Interconnection is the practice of interweaving all the strategies and opportunities on a project throughout the various stages of design and construction. By harmonizing the parts of the whole, we are better able to demonstrate their value as contributors to the overall project ecosystem. Here, we show a typical site analysis used to understand a project’s site challenges prior to concept design. These early studies demonstrate the potential for managing stormwater, daylighting and promotion of pedestrian linkages. These diagrams also highlight existing infrastructure and identify areas where improvements can be most beneficial in facilitating further interconnections.
