Tsoi/Kobus & Associates worked with the University of Florida to develop the first proton therapy center in the southeastern United States at the Shands Jacksonville Medical Center. The facility is ranked among the 50 leading cancer institutes in the country by U.S. News & World Report.
- Includes three gantries, each nearly 30 feet across and three stories deep, and one fixed beam treatment room for outpatient therapy.
- Design also supports conventional radiation treatment facilities and includes an infusion suite for combined therapies using radio-enhancing or radio-inhibiting medications, as well as research and office space.
- At capacity, facility can treat up to 150 patients a day.
